Mary's Corner - Mariposa Scrapbook Pages

I just love the Mariposa Stack by DCWV with its vintage butterfly and garden themes.  It's just what I need to see - I'm so ready for Spring!!  Lately I've stopped wearing my winter hat, hoping I can single-handedly hurry Spring along.  It's working!!  I used a few of our Breezy Meadow Butterflies and some of our daffodils as well (a freebie from our blog) to coordinate with the gorgeous spring blooms in these photos.

Dimensions

Here are the exact shapes, sizes and colors I used.  Use the Keep Proportions option to keep the shapes' proportions while sizing each to the width or height given below.

Design Tips

  • I ran the "our family" and the stitched frame through our Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder to add some interest.
  • I used 3D dots (pop dots or Zots) underneath the butterflies and daffodils to make them stand out.
  • Also, rubbing an ink pad around each shape takes extra time, but is well worth it.  I rubbed a brown ink pad around the edges of every shape, even the background papers.
  • I used a stamp that I got from Santa (not sure where it's from), but there are so many great stamps and rub-ons that would work for this.  Or you could even journal about the photos and give a location and date and write a little blurb.

Paper Suggestions

  • I used paper from the Mariposa Stack by DCWV for all the printed paper.
  • For solid color cardstock I used AC Cardstock.  This is my fave solid color cardstock because of its texture, its solid-color core (not white-core) and because of how clean it always cuts for me.

Love these Mary – awesome job! Good idea about not wearing your hat – I’ll have to try that (as the snow continues to fall outside my Pittsburgh home)

Did you make the “My Family” title? or was it premade in the paper pack?

I’m so amazed at how great your shading made the daffodils look! I didn’t save them b/c I couldn’t see any dimension to them. I was Wrong!

    Lovely pages!

The My Family title was cut out using the My Mom’s Attic Free set from our store!

Gorgeous!! I just LOVE this paper (DCWV is my favorite paper manufacturer ;-)) but what you made with it and your choice of pics and frames just elevated the whole project to another level! Such a happy family page, I would feel like putting it in a frame in the living room instead of in an album!… :-D
