ATC Mailer Box

Have you ever made an ATC card?  They are fun to make and trade with your crafty friends!  If you make some that have dimension, pop dots or brads or bling, it can be tough mailing them in a regular envelope.  Sometimes they arrive with postage due or they start busting out of the envelope.  Or you can use a bubble-wrap lined mailer, but they are usually pretty large and can get expensive.  But now you can use your cutting machine and thin chipboard to make your own mailing box that fits an ATC just right (just wrap the ATC in a little tissue paper).

We used our Black Cat Lynx with the pressure turned up almost all the way and chipboard from the back of a stack of DCWV paper.  Then to seal it up we used a hot glue gun to make sure it stays in tact as it travels across the country.  (And in one case across the Atlantic!)

If you're not familiar with ATCs, an ATC card is an "Artist Trading Card."  It's small!  Just about the size of a baseball card - 2.5 x 3.5".  Artists and artsy crafters make them and trade.  It's fun to collect them from your crafty friends because they are little works of art, made with love by gals just like you who love paper crafting and art.  The ATCs you receive look great on your bulletin board or in your scrapbook or Smash book.

Photo shows an ATC that Mary received from Cindy in Germany for the Patriotic ATC Swap.  (Cindy's blog is at  The ATC and its elements are not included in this download - your download contains the box only.  Your download also includes a version of the box without score marks in case you would like to score it manually. OK, so you are a life saver…I have been holding on to my ATC’s for the current swap, cuz I just did not know how to mail them..I knew it was going to cost a ton but I just loved how they turned out. So I took the time this morning to make these great boxes and they work out just perfect…but I must get a Black Cat so that I don’t have to waste 8+ pieces of chip board to get 4 boxes…but I am working on that…do you have anymore input for the Black Cat as to how it cuts chip board? I would love to hear…Thanks again for the GREAT file, as always!!
