SVG Workflow

For users of SVGCuts files, workflow is VERY important. Spending less time importing and preparing your files for cutting means spending more time actually assembling your projects. In the video below, we imported all of the necessary files to create the Thanksgiving Box Card from our Autumn Box Cards SVG Kit. The results are as follows:

Cutting Speed

Cutting speed is another factor to keep in mind when determining which machine is right for you. In the video below, we cut the Thanksgiving Box Card from our Autumn Box Cards SVG Kit using the default speeds of all three machines. All three machines cut all of the designs perfectly and the results are as follows:

  • Silhouette CAMEO using Silhouette Studio Designer Edition: 13:49
  • Cricut Explore using Cricut Design Space: 18:12
  • Sizzix eclips2 using eCAL: 9:14

Machine Loudness

For some users, the loudness of the machine is a make or break, especially for the night owls that craft at night. Below are the results of our tests:

  • Silhouette CAMEO was the loudest, especially when cutting score lines.
  • Sizzix eclips was the second loudest.
  • Cricut Explore was the quietest.

Hello, I just want to say I really enjoy your designs and the instruction videos on how to put things together. I have both the Silhouette and Cricut Expression. I also have the older Graphtec. I am curious on which machine do you really like and which machine holds the blades sharpness the best. I find on my silhouette it seems like the blades get dull very quickly. I haven’t played much with the Cricut Expression because I found it misleading when I purchased it. I didn’t realize at the time it was limited to it’s files. All the post I had seen were obviously older ones. I notice you use a Sissix. I haven’t seen one of those in the stores so I have no clue on their capability. Also, do you have tips on how to sharpen and clean the blades.

I purchased your kit that had the cowboy boot in it. It was fun and actually easy to put together.

    Thank you very much.
