Leo and Mary -

I cannot thank you enough for posting the video from CHA with details about the E-Craft.  I bought one of the introductory packages - mostly on faith - because there were just not a lot of details available about this machine.  I subscribe to a Yahoo group where for it - but the beta testers were sworn to secrecy and I was getting really frustrated and worried.

With all of the hype on the Cricut Imagine - I was struggling to find any info about the E-Craft.  And I was hoping that I did not waste my hard-earned money on it.  (I will give ProvoCraft credit - they do know how to market.)

I think your video is the best information to come out of CHA about the E-Craft.  I, for one, am feeling a lot better about my investment in it and I look forward to receiving mine when it comes.

Thank you - thank you - thank you!!!

That's awesome! I'm glad you found it informative. We'll try to shoot some more video today. I can tell you that it worked, but it is different and will take some getting used to. The software needs some work, but I'm sure they will be updating it as the suggestions come in!

Yes thank you Leo that was such a great video, I really like the Halloween paper it looks gorgeous! AND you and Mary look GORGEOUS as well   Roll Eyes is the ecraft SCAL compatible? that puppy looks great, and all the lovely colors. Maybe I can get a purple one to match my mini and scrap room....  Shocked I am liking the ecraft better than the imagine. Oh and the no mats thing- how cool is that? How does it hold the pieces so it doesn't move? Looking fwd to more videos from you.

It is my understanding that the ECraft comes with it's own software that can utilize SVG files - and that was a critical element for me for purchase.  I have no interest in a cutting machine I can't use my SVGs with.

Having said that, it would not surprise me to see SCAL and/or Make the Cut become eCraft compatible if they perceive there is a market for it.

As for me - I am looking at the eCraft more for "mass production" items like my Christmas cards.  I am thinking of it more as a supplement to - rather than a replacement for - my Expression.

I've linked to your site and your video from my blog.  It was not only the first video of the eCraft that I was able to find; but, it was EXTREMELY well done.  I started out in this site impressed... but, I have to say that my admiration just keeps growing.  Thank you!

By the way, are you driving from the RIGHT side of the car or is the initial video flipped horizontally?

It's a MYSTERY!!!   Cheesy

Hey everyone! I'll try to answer all of these questions:

1. Is it SCAL compatible? Not at the moment, but I don't see why it couldn't be.
2. The E-Craft has a mode where you can add "tabs" to the cuts. You can set the frequency and the thickness of the tabs and then you can pull them off after the paper comes out. Also, when the paper goes in and out of the machine, it stays pretty flat so there is no way for it to fall out. We did cut one shape that came out during cutting, but the girl said it was because of the pressure setting. I'm looking forward to getting a model to test, once I have one in my studio, I'll be sure to do a FULL report!
3. The E-Craft will be AWESOME for mass production. Want to make 20 Christmas cards, start with a card base from one of our sets, put in the paper and select the amount you want cut out. Put it aside, load the next file and paper, cut 20 more! Super cool and efficient!

I'm glad you found the video useful, I'm embarrassed to have to post a video I shot on my phone, but I did my best. Oh and the phone did flip me. We were in the USA! I swear!

Cely, we only posted it on Facebook, but I'll be adding it to the blog too!

Are you kidding?  That is one great phone video!  I've got stuff up on YouTube shot with a 3-chip camera that doesn't look any better than that after they get through compressing it.

The important thing, besides the fact that it was THE scoop of CHA, is that it was useful at introducing the most critical part of the machine, the cutting head technology.

The drive flip right-left thing was a hoot.  It was kinda freaky to pan right to see the passenger.  Great fun and VERY helpful.

Here is my link back to your video on my blog.  We had a little fun with the Driving-showing flash-recording multi-tasking!   Grin
