Patterned paper shown is the Flora No. 1 Collection by Carta Bella.

NEW: Your download includes solid score lines for each shape that's scored in each project's Extras folder!

This project uses sixteen sheets of 12x12 white paper (or whatever color you’d like the main parts of your house to be - shown here in white). Patterned paper shown is the Flora No. 1 Collection by Carta Bella.

For the panels on the stairs, I used I used very shiny gold paper, which I got at Michaels. It’s pretty pricey at $1.99 per sheet of 12x12 (at full price). You could of course also use plain cardstock in a pretty color, or glitter paper, etc.!

For the iron “fencing” at the top of both roof sections, I used solid brown (chocolate) paper that has a metallic sheen to it, which I got at Michaels at the top of the shelves of individual papers. It comes in packs of five and is Recollections brand.

For the windows, I used plain letter-sized vellum paper, which you can get at any craft store, such as Michaels. It’s usually also available in 12x12 size. I use a large package of letter-sized vellum that I got on Amazon.

The finished project stands 11” wide, 17” high and nine inches deep. The roof does not lift off, so unlike some of our other "house" projects, this project is intended to be a decor piece (luminary), not so much a "gift box."

The embossing folders used are:

* Cross My Heart by Cuttlebug (for the trim around the front door)

* Stripe by Darice (for the siding)

* Roses with Leaves by Sizzix from the Roses and Frames Two-Pack Set (for some of the roof panels) Layered Scallops by Echo Park (for most of the roof panels)

However, lots of other embossing folders would look great, or you could of course also use patterned paper instead!
