Sanderson's Bait Shop

Bring a touch of the shoreline home with Sanderson's Bait Shop, a charming coastal paper structure inspired by old fishing shacks, dockside shops, and lazy Summer days near the water. Despite all its delightful details—from the striped awning and hanging fish sign to the life preserver, shells, dock posts, and tiny bench—it's surprisingly approachable to make, using just one sheet of blue cardstock for the building, one sheet of brown for the dock, and scraps for the accents. Add an LED light inside for a warm evening glow and enjoy it as a seasonal display piece all Summer long.

Supplies

For best results, I recommend 80# textured solid-core cardstock for a sturdy, professional finish. Scotch Quick-Dry Tacky Glue provides a strong hold.

This design uses just one 12x12" sheet of medium brown and one sheet of dusty blue for the building.

I used eight patterned papers from the Simple Vintage Sand & Sea collection by Simple Stories.

I also used a small piece of plain vellum for the windowpanes and a small piece of silver shimmer paper for the "metal" parts. For the roof, I used some dark blue shimmer paper.

Other solid scraps used include white, teal, red, ivory and dark gray.

For inking, I used Color Petal Ink Pad Set 1004 & Ranger Picket Fence (with a dauber) for a weathered look.

Illuminate yours with a short string of warm white fairy lights.
